The stock brakes will slide the rear wheels, so putting on disc brakes is a wasted effort in my thinking. Alot of work and money to still just slide the tires even more. Drive the car like you have no brakes and you will be ok.
On the fuel pump, if you must run an electric, get one that is as low pressure as possible. 1 1/2 to 2 pounds is plenty. Most any auto parts store should handle them. I like the ones that look similar to a fuel filter. Don't get the old style points type, what I refer to as the "giggly giggly" ones. Get the rotory ones. Mount the pump as close to the gas tank as feasible. They push much better than they pull. Hide it up under the car, ground it well, and tie it into the ignition switch so it goes off when the car is shut off.
