Post subject:  1915 Fuel system fix

Any suggestions for a electric fuel pump with regulator that I can hide in my 1915 frame? I have been using a medium size air pump that I connected to the line from the dash pump. I have not regulated the pressure though, so I have to manually switch it off and on. Not a problem being I have yet to take the car off my street, but I want to venture out into the big streets this year.

Also looking for bolts and nuts for my split rims and wheels. Trying to keep everything (the only exception being the fuel pump and maybe........disc brakes) original as this is a very early DB touring car.

Maybe after 20 years and a little help from some members, I will be able to get it out on the road. I have really been hurt by quite a few shops in town and am very reluctant to turn to the "professionals" for any more of my money.

Post subject:  The stock brakes will slide

The stock brakes will slide the rear wheels, so putting on disc brakes is a wasted effort in my thinking. Alot of work and money to still just slide the tires even more. Drive the car like you have no brakes and you will be ok.

On the fuel pump, if you must run an electric, get one that is as low pressure as possible. 1 1/2 to 2 pounds is plenty. Most any auto parts store should handle them. I like the ones that look similar to a fuel filter. Don't get the old style points type, what I refer to as the "giggly giggly" ones. Get the rotory ones. Mount the pump as close to the gas tank as feasible. They push much better than they pull. Hide it up under the car, ground it well, and tie it into the ignition switch so it goes off when the car is shut off.
