We have a 1924 and we are having issues with the car starting fine and runs until the bowl runs out of gas. It is not allowing the float to receive gas. If you take the top off gas fills the bowl. We had the vacuum canister rebuilt and appears to be working fine because that allows has gas ready for the bowl but the float just wont let the gas in once it runs out. We originally thought that was the issue but I guess not. If you tap on the side of the bowl while its running it will continue to run until you stop tapping and runs out of gas. Any thoughts. Nothing looks unusual and the car once ran very well.

Either the float is hanging on a bur or something is catching it. Or the needle is sticking in once the float closes it. Let is stall out and try to gently lift the top off the carb. See if the float is hung or the needle is stuck in. Did the needle and seat get replaced? If not then probably should do so. if so it may be defective or have something on it causing it to stick.

The float seems fine - where is the best place to get a new needle and seat. At this point need to start trying new parts because can't seem to see anything obvious.
thanks

I have used this site. http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/
He only takes calls 9-4 Mon-Tues central time. Also searching the web will pop a few others.

Try gravity feeding the carb from a separate container. If it still behaves the same way it's definitely in the carburettor. If not it's in the fuel delivery system.
Is the fuel canister vent clear and functioning properly?
