Oil guage. Have oil gauge with copper tubing literally pushed into back Is this correct?? Can u Brase this copper tube to the back of steel guage

You'll cook the gauge if you braze or solder it. My guess is that the tube to gauge connection was soldered before the gauge was assembled.
You might be able to drill and tap the existing hole for 1/8" pipe thread and join the gauge to the tubing with a 1/8" male pipe X 1/4" flare fitting from the hardware store. Be careful about getting/leaving metal shavings inside the gauge.
