I have a 1929 Da sedan. After a little research i realized someone prior to me had installed the wrong and undersized carb. I would like to keep it original, but does anyone know of a carb that would work correctly with the bolt pattern and engine cfm requirement?
I believe the original was a Stromberg U2. Thank you in advance!

The original carb was pot metal, doubt if you will find a good one. The crack from old age and either leak internally or externally. I think BB1 carbs are used on many DAs.

I went the BB! Carb replacement. Be very careful it you purchase one on the internet. There are many available but only a very few will work properly for your application. I got a so called Univeral BBi that was used in the late 30’s. It was a fuel pump type carb. Yours is a gravity feed.
I had my Detroit-Stewart carb rebuilt and it works get.

Sherm, was the Stewart a truck only item? I have only seen the pot metal junker on cars.

I believe they were available on passenger cars also.

Be careful. I have one for sale but couldn’t sell it with a clear conscience.

You may want to contact Jon at https://www.thecarburetorshop.com/

He will help you with the correct options. Many of the BB1 carbs won't work and he can explain why.
