It looks like it's going to be nice this weekend, so I'd like to get my dad's 1925 DB out and give it some exercise.

Is there anything special I need to know about starting it?

Thanks!

Ron, do you know how to check the oil level? There is a rod behind the starter. as long as it is between the marks in the casting you are OK. There are pictures and instructions in the owner's manual. Turn on the gas at the bottom of the vacuum tank. You should hear gas run into carb. Start in neutral and let it warm up. You don't need first gear unless you are staring out up hill. Remember you only have two wheel brakes.
