I own a 1935 Dodge Brothers Series 1 KC 1/2 Ton Pickup. This is an early 1935 model with suicide doors and the soft spot on the cab roof. The engine is a 1935 Plymouth - serial number PJ209262 with 201 cubic inches and 82 hp. I always assumed that the engine was a replacement for the original engine.

Now I have my doubts. I am wondering if Chrysler used up their stock of Plymouth engines on the early 1935 Dodge Brothers KC pickups. I haven't found the serial number for the truck (yet) so I can't access a build sheet.

Does anyone have an opinion or information?
