Hi, Hoping someone has an answer. My 27 Fast four still running 6v and original vacuum set up. Did just under 70 miles the other day and when I got to the top of a hill the motor just died. Coasted down other side till got a place to pull over. Tested all electrics and spark ok, but it seemed like the head had flooded as un-burnt fuel was leaking from valves and when spark plugs out could feel petrol in bores. Managed to clear all the unburnt fuel and trying to find cause. Seems to be only firing on 3 cylinders. Have replaced coil, checked all leads and replaced spark plugs but no difference. Will a stuck valve cause this issue?
What else can I try?

Cheers,

Sounds like you have one or two possible problems... 1 the brass springs on the inside of the vac tank top have come adrift and this is stopping the vac tank float valve from closing when the float reaches the "filled" point, causing the fuel to be continually sucked into the tank and then straight into your engine via the vacuum tube.
2 the other maybe the small brass seat in the vac tank top has come adrift and is not allowing the valve to close properly, and this creates the same problem as point 1 ... raw fuel straight into the engine via the vac line..

Take the top off the tank and check for these ..

Test the carburetor fuel float for leaks by shaking it to see if there's liquid inside of it, then submerge it in hot water. Bubbles will appear if it has leaks.
There are several possible causes other than those already mentioned here. Unfortunately, this club and forum has all but ceased to exist. You will find the AACA Dodge and Dodge Brothers forum more active.
