2925 touring. Trying to put oil pan on. Help. Have done everything possible. Done what mechanic and instruction manuals say. No luck. Should I lift motor remove mount and put on???

Miles; The oil pan instructions, (for engines with square head bolts in the rear), say only to make sure the rear oil felt is in place, the oil level indicator is through the hole in the block and to put the front of the pan in first then raise the rear into position. Maybe someone who has done this before will offer better advice than I have.

When I replaced my pan, I bought a cheap 2' hard plastic vacuum line that fit the hole snugly and also on the oil rod and would hold it in position. Made much easier fitting the oil rod into the hole and kept it there while lifting pan.
