Hello, I am brand new to this forum.
I have recently inherited a 1928 Dodge Brothers Sedan. I was told it used to be a Police car in Jefferson, Georgia. It has the small red lights on each side of the chrome trim at the back of the hood. It has a fender mounted siren.
Is there a way to trace my vin number to verify that it was in fact a police car?
The car belonged to my Dad, I am about to start restoring it. If it can be proven to be a police car, I would like to restore it as a police car.
Also if anyone has pictures of and Dodge Brothers Police cars please share them.
Thank you for any information, David

Why not contact the police department you think it came from?

Hi David-
I have a '28 Standard Suburban. Can you tell me what color your speedometer and amp and oil pressure gauge are? My speedo face is black and I think it should be white. The two other gauges are white faced. I'm trying to get it correct.
Thanks, Darryl.

Hi Darryl; I have a 32 depot hack (F10) I also had the white gauges and a black face speedometer. I did repaint mine white but since then I have seen pictures of others with the same black/white combination. I have also heard that it was not uncommon. Things were not perfect then. I have a dash light switch with no lights. I think a light may have once been mounted to the back of the dash. If that was true, the only gauge with a "Side window" to allow light in was the speedometer. The others would be in the dark. Attached is an one of the examples I found.
